Getting to Know Mary
Why did you pick this profession?
I have always wanted to work in healthcare. I wanted to be a nurse but could not due to physical ailments. I love helping people. That is why I decided to go back to college. I was then directed by the Director of MCC at the time when I was applying for college at MCC, the Director mentioned that I could be in the HIM Program which was the closest healthcare program to being a nurse. The program was a 2 year program, and after I graduated from college, I could sit to take the RHIT exam. That was the wow factor to me.
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
My favorite way to spend my weekends are spending time with my friends or family with a bottle of wine or beer or without and great grilled food at our Summer home (clamping) (Park Model) at Bethany New York, outside of Batavia, New York.

If you could make one rule for everyone in the world to follow, what would it be?
Be kind, loving and caring to one another. Then that would make up a wonderful world for which we all live in.
